Weekly Beef Export Sales 10/31 07:35
Hides and Skins: Net sales of 393,900 pieces for 2024 were up 4 percent
from the previous week and 12 percent from the prior 4-week average.
Increases were primarily for China (273,900 whole cattle hides, including
decreases of 18,400 pieces), South Korea (41,000 whole cattle hides,
including decreases of 300 pieces), Mexico (29,400 whole cattle hides,
including decreases of 500 pieces), Brazil (25,100 whole cattle hides),
and Thailand (11,800 whole cattle hides, including decreases of 1,800
pieces). In addition, total net sales reductions of 300 kip skins were for
Belgium. Whole cattle hides exports of 319,800 pieces were down 14 percent
from the previous week and 18 percent from the prior 4-week average. The
destinations were primarily to China (227,100 pieces), Mexico (29,000
pieces), South Korea (22,100 pieces), Thailand (20,100 pieces), and Italy
(7,200 pieces). In addition, exports of 2,600 kip skins were to Belgium.
Net sales of 177,900 wet blues for 2024 were down 15 percent from the
previous week, but up 10 percent from the prior 4-week average. Increases
reported for Vietnam (129,500 unsplit, including decreases of 100
unsplit), China (40,800 unsplit), Thailand (8,200 unsplit, including
decreases of 6,000 unsplit), Hong Kong (5,200 unsplit), and India (4,800
unsplit), were offset by reductions for Brazil (5,100 unsplit and 200
grain splits), Italy (4,500 unsplit), and Taiwan (800 unsplit). Net sales
of 341,000 unsplit for 2025 were primarily for Italy (205,000 unsplit),
Hong Kong (76,600 unsplit), Brazil (52,200 unsplit), Thailand (6,000
unsplit), and Taiwan (800 unsplit). Exports of 142,800 wet blues were down
2 percent from the previous week and 6 percent from the prior 4-week
average. The destinations were primarily to Vietnam (49,300 unsplit),
China (29,000 unsplit), Thailand (19,100 unsplit), Brazil (13,300 unsplit
and 4,000 grain splits), and Italy (14,800 unsplit). No net sales of
splits were reported for the week. Exports of 43,000 splits were to China.
Beef: Net sales of 13,900 MT for 2024 were down 17 percent from the
previous week and from the prior 4-week average. Increases were primarily
for South Korea (4,900 MT, including decreases of 300 MT), China (3,200
MT, including decreases of 200 MT), Japan (2,500 MT, including decreases
of 200 MT), Taiwan (1,000 MT, including decreases of 200 MT), and Mexico
(700 MT, including decreases of 100 MT). Net sales of 5,700 MT for 2025
were primarily for Japan (3,700 MT) and South Korea (1,800 MT). Exports of
15,700 MT were down 2 percent from the previous week and 3 percent from
the prior 4-week average. The destinations were primarily to South Korea
(4,800 MT), Japan (2,900 MT), China (2,400 MT), Mexico (1,600 MT), and
Taiwan (1,200 MT).
Pork: Net sales of 44,800 MT for 2024 were up noticeably from the
previous week and up 16 percent from the prior 4-week average. Increases
were primarily for Mexico (17,700 MT, including decreases of 200 MT),
China (10,400 MT), Japan (4,800 MT, including decreases of 200 MT), South
Korea (3,800 MT, including decreases of 500 MT), and Canada (2,900 MT,
including decreases of 700 MT). Net sales of 200 MT for 2025 were
primarily for New Zealand. Exports of 32,300 MT were up 1 percent from the
previous week and 13 percent from the prior 4-week average. The
destinations were primarily to Mexico (11,400 MT), Japan (4,100 MT), China
(3,600 MT), South Korea (2,900 MT), and Colombia (2,700 MT).
